Commoners are constantly bemused with promotional messages and slogans to grab their attention and manipulate their minds more than ever. Businesses are practically hell bent on outdoing their rivals to gain control over the market and get the bigger share of the pie. Advertising has become mandatory in getting the intended message through to the prospective consumers or clients amidst the clamor for attention, which can be a pretty daunting task. When you are selling a service or a product, it is best to be forthright and concise, unless there is something you need to mask and sugarcoat. The latter requiring a lot of effort with little guarantee for success.

Advertising is an integral part of brand development. Many advertisers fail to understand that. What makes advertisements hard to put up with is the irrelevance of the advertisement theme and the product. Some audio-visual advertisements are so painfully lengthy that it prompts the audience to quickly reach for the remote, creating an avoidable negative impact and failing utterly in getting the intended message through. And some instances of advertising in Nepal are so poorly planned and executed that the viewer is left laughing, not at the humor as intended but the stupidity of the content therein.

Companies and corporate houses often turn to celebrities to lend their leverage for their product and services in exchange for a huge amount of money. No wonder celebrities with a huge fan base rake in a lot of money through brand endorsements and promotions. This is a practice almost everywhere. Celebrities with endorsements of reputed brands are often considered successful and companies strategically consider associating popular celebrities with the campaign development for their brand. While doing so, there are chances of production of advertisements that are misleading and at times unethical as fans have a blind faith towards their idols and do not cross check the information disseminated through the advertisement. Children are more vulnerable in this regard. There are laws to protect the rights of the consumers but some of the unethical and misleading advertisements go unpunished..

Advertising agency in Nepal, in general have a significant task of promoting business and trade by adding value to the products and stimulating demand. However, it is a challenge to come up with an effective advertising campaign for a particular product or service and can be the chief determinant of success or failure for the same.
