You are probably sick and tired of people telling you that you need to create a blog for your business. We're convinced that if you're not sure, then just do some independent research and find the facts. So even if you're not turned on by blogs, you'll find they'll provide you with time savings. Business blogging is challenging, but it's a different experience than with a mere static site.

It's important that you understand that business blogs and personal blogs are not the same. Up until recently, the majority of blogs on the web were personal ones. For this reason, not all businesses understand that this trend is rapidly changing. You must always remember the main function of your blog, and in the case of business blogging this will be to communicate with prospects and customers. If you find yourself writing about your cat or what you're making for dinner, you should get yourself back on track. If you need to, do some research and compare personal blogs with those set up by some big companies for business purposes.

When you create content for your business blog, always keep your purpose in mind.

Create only a few different categories for your blog because they're like subjects, and all of the posts that you publish on your blog should have a category assigned to them. This is all a good part of your internal link structure, as well, and that will help you with SEO points. You'll find that your blog will have more organization when you plan it out on paper, first. Then you can place your cats in a sidebar which tends to be the default placement.

How often you create content for your blog is your call, and you need to learn what is best but there is no standard. Much depends on the niche you're in, so keep that in mind and it also rests with your readers. No matter what niche you're in, you should post aggressively in the beginning with a new blog. All you need to do is get in the habit of writing and putting it up on your blog. It's perfectly fine to post more often when a big event is coming up or if breaking news happens.

The less you know about making a business blog and then getting it up to speed, the more time it will take. Of course there's a whole lot more to this and you have to find out very soon. As you grow and work on your blog and learn more about blogging, you'll figure out what works for you and what doesn't. In the end, it's all up to you and how hard and diligently you're willing to work at this.
